Daily Blogging Update + Three Healthy Habits for 2018

Ok, so less than a week in and I’ve already skipped two days. Truth be told, I wrote on both of those days, and just wasn’t pleased with what came out. I made a daily blogging commitment because I crave the structure, the challenge, and the accountability. But more than anything else, I want this blog to be full of actually helpful content that educates, enriches, and empowers others to take on challenges, with amazing results. I think that one day I’ll be able to provide immense value every single day, but I’m not sure today is that day.

When I originally decided to start this blog, I thought of it as my daily journal chronicling the habits I was building, the daily challenges of keeping them, etc. But I realized I have more concrete value to offer than that,

My Most Important Habit for 2018

I have a confession to make. It’s 11 pm and I haven’t written a blog post yet. RVshare announced this morning that Jon Gray, former HomeAway Chief Revenue Officer, has officially joined the company as CEO. Now, I work for RVshare, so that meant today was a long, productive, exciting day. 🙂

This is all great news. Amazing news. News that will change the trajectory of our company, and likely, my career. But it also means I haven’t written a damn thing for this blog today. And that’s ok because life is better when you’re busy! But I wasn’t about to slack off and not post at all. I made a daily blogging commitment after all, and I believe that you’re only as good as your word.

So today will be a short one.

It’s a new year, with new goals.

Win the Game of Life: Sell What The People Want To Buy

Today’s blog, #2 of my daily blogging 2018 challenge, was supposed to be about how I’ve started a new habit of waking up at 5am, and drinking 100 ounces of water a day. While I promise to circle back to that topic tomorrow (or later this week), what I’d like to talk about today is a thought that’s been bouncing around in my head lately.

“All else aside, sell what the people want to buy.”

No, I didn’t get that from a fortune cookie, but I did think it had a nice ring to it. 🙂

I think we’ve all heard a saying similar, and I’ve always known that to sell a prospect, they have to be a buyer. You can’t turn someone who’ll never buy into someone who will.

But you’re the one with the responsibility to choose what and how to sell the world what you have.

I fought for for 9 years…now what?

I’d like to tell you the story about how I finally got my hands on after over nine years of fighting, and why I think it will change my life forever.

The year was 2008. The air was warm. Humid. Thick. Typical Florida. I was staring at my computer screen, nearly in tears. I yelled some kind of profanity, and my mother was not pleased. And neither was I. Why? Well, let me back up a few years.

My Entrepreneurial Origins

In 2006, when I was 14 years old, I fell deep into the rabbit hole of technology. I was stuck on the idea that I could make money on the internet. And so I did!

Thanks to my sister denying me a signature design for my favorite forum, I pirated a copy of Photoshop from her computer and said “fine,
